Sustainability

We take our social and environmental responsibilities seriously. Our ESG policies are designed to cover all aspects of Environmental, Social, and Governance, and to provide transparency on our company policies.

 Our Commitment

Following the UN Sustainability Goals (SDGs), we are working on being a sustainable company with sustainable products. We have included these goals in our company ethos to benefit our workers, our products, our energy use, carbon footprint, and environmental and social impact. Working with products that are manufactured creates challenges, but we are mindful of our responsibility to work sustainably and to create products that have a long life cycle and can be reused, recycled, and repurposed.

Innovation

SDG 9, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

Our products are designed to be part of the circular economy. We look for raw materials that can be safely and responsibly used, extracted, and created with energy efficiency processes. Our materials are designed to be used in a way that drives efficiency in manufacturing and transporting. And they can be reused at the end of their product life cycle. We create our innovative products with durability and sustainability as key criteria in their conception.

Our products are designed to align with the Circular Economy model

- Raw materials used with a sustainable design for disassembly and recycling

- Responsible energy consumption in manufacturing and logistical delivery

- Improved building maintenance and useful life cycle, extending "useful life"

- Recovery of waste material and electronic equipment for reuse

- Dismantled and materials recovered

- Materials recovered and reused (urban mining)

Our Products

SDG 12, Responsible Consumption and Production

We use aluminium panels that use unique structure to ensure maximum strength with minimum material usage, this makes them both strong and lightweight to build and transport. The structure means the material is strong for its mass - providing favourable ratios of strength-to-weight. This means we can use this aluminium as a substitute for much heavier materials, driving energy savings in both transportation and manufacturing.

Aluminium is also infinitely recyclable, so this can retain properties when reused or repurposed. This means using raw materials that can be part of the circular economy. Aluminium, since it is corrosion resistant, can generally have a long service life. Aluminium is a highly recycled product, with just 8% of the energy needed to make primary aluminium used in the recycling process. 90% of the product is recycled at the end of its life, by remelting process. The collection rate for aluminium in the construction sector can be as high as 95%.

A DreamBoks contain around 2kg of electronics in each, which is around 1.4% of the total build. These parts are easily sourced to replace if there is a malfunction. Our remaining materials are aluminium profiles and panels. These are registered by Intertek as conforming to the requirements ISO 14001:2015, and UKAS Management Systems. Please request certificates if needed.

We also comply with regulations in our manufacturing process, with adherence to regulatory thresholds for hazardous air emissions, pollutants in wastewater, acoustical absorption (noise measurements and mitigation for our workers within our production plant) and our aluminium panels are packaged in wooden cases- reused and recyclable, along with all our other packing materials.

Our pods our assembled into flat packs in our factory in Denmark, and then transported to your hotel or hostel or other designated area by our logistics team. These are then assembled on site (and can be disassembled and moved as directed). We are also mindful in our logistics after manufacturing. On the road delivering, installing, and delivering products, working to keep our energy consumption and carbon footprint as low as we can.
