 FAQs

What are the upfront costs of investment?

None, we present you with a risk free investment. We cover the product and installation costs in your designated space, predetermined together after analysis of suitable spaces and a viability assessment. You only pay us a percentage of your increased revenue after successful installation.

How can you guarantee increase in RevPAR?

We conduct an assessment based on your current layout and base revenue per available room. From here we are able to assess where to install our double bed sleeping pods to maximize layout and capacity of your room. From here we create the optimum use of space per square footage. We have a proven track record of increased RevPAR with over 30,000 overnight stays and 50.000 guests have slept in our The Sandman model with installations in several properties.

How do you cover the costs of installation?

Our business model provides the sleeping pods as a service. This means that we partner with you and cover the costs of installation and maintenance and in return we take a percentage of the increase in RevPAR, above the base RevPAR on the previous room availability. The first year this is 50% of the increase in RevPAR, following this it will decrease to a lower % annually of increased RevPAR.

Do you send pods anywhere in Europe?

Yes, we can install pods in all of Europe.

Is there a minimum order for pods to create a partnership?

Yes, we have a minimum order of two individual pods.

How long are the standard partnership contracts?

We are looking for long term partnerships which benefit both partners. The standard length of contract is currently three years.

From deciding on the pod locations how long does it take to get the pods set up in a property?

If we have the required pods in stock already, then they can be set up in approximately 6 weeks. If we need to make the pods to order, it will be around 14 weeks. Our pods are transported flat packed and our team can assemble around 4 pods a day on location.

Are your sleeping pods secure and safe to use?

Yes. We have air controlled ventilated pods with easy access entry and exit through side or end and fire-retardant materials. Our products are manufactured in Denmark to meet and exceed EU standards, with the highest fire safety and lowest fire burden standards. Our products are all CE marked to EU standards. The sleeping pods can be secured with an electromagnetic lock which is controlled by a digital access control system. ABA smoke detectors can be installed at your own cost, so if an alarm in the building is activated, the locks are released to allow exit.

How can I integrate my booking system?

Our system and access control come fully integrated with most major booking systems. This allows you to experience minimum downtime and training as you can immediately sell overnight stays directly via the traditional OTA channels as you would with your other bookings.

How do I maintain them or fix any damaged pods?

We maintain our sleeping pods to avoid any need for fixing and cover any costs to service them. This ensures maximum uptime. Partners must inform us of any damaged pods and not try to fix them themselves. Partners are responsible for damage the pods incur in the rooms.

What technology do I need to use the digital access locking system?

The Sandman comes with GOKI technology and access point with inclusive subscription.

How do I clean them?

The pods are made from aluminium allowing for easy clean and rust-free. They are also anti-bed bug so will save on downtime and spreading of infestations.

How sustainable and durable are The Sandman pods?

The sleeping pods are designed to be long-lasting and durable, with, in theory, a life shelf of 100 years. This makes them a more efficient sleep capsule for the circular economy.

Are they fire resistant?

Manufactured in Denmark to EU standards. Built with the highest fire safety and lowest fire burden standards; approved for installation. CE marked following EU standards. Developed as a plug-and-play hotel furniture piece using sustainable materials. The lock is a secure electromagnetic lock, controlled by a digital access control system.

What about ventilation?

There are adjustable ventilation levels inside the cabin to give a comfortable night’s sleep.

How are they bed bug resistant?

Developed to be materially resistant to bed bugs but can also be heated if the room has an infestation, for 30 minutes at no higher than 65 degrees (or else the electronic systems will be disrupted.)
